Build California – WiOPS 2020 Kick-Off!
Thank you to Murray Company for hosting our “2020 Kick-Off” event in January! Together we celebrate another successful year of WiOPS on our 7th Anniversary and AGC introduced us to their new Build California Initiative. Despite the fact that California’s construction industry has invested extensive resources and efforts in an array of workforce development initiatives over the past few decades, just 9% of Generation Z-ers (those born between 1995-2010) currently indicate any interest in a career in construction. Build California was launched with the belief that it can be a change agent to drive growth and engagement of a more robust future construction workforce in our state.
We also introduced our 2020 Board of Directors, who touched on what Build California means to them and why they believe it is applicable to the industry we see today. This evening was filled with amazing food and drinks, informative discussions, great networking, and even better company!
