Our June Member of the Month is Marta Martin! As the Director of Marketing at Murray Company she gets to explore their past and on-going projects in many sectors of construction. She is grateful for their expansive reach in the industry because it allows her to continue to learn and gives her the opportunities to visit some great projects like the United Airlines Memorial Coliseum and Caltech’s Chen Neuroscience Research Building. After graduating from UCLA with a Sociology degree Marta didn’t envision herself with a career in construction, but once she found herself in it she thought “how fortunate the stars aligned for me this way.” She believes it is an industry filled with “kind, and intelligent people, making a significant impact”.
She enjoys spending time with her kids by playing baseball and doing anything outdoors to “keep my heart young and my family creating memories.”
Marta’s personal escapes include reading novels and historical fiction, hiking, running, and has just started road cycling. Marta would like to leave all the WiOps members with the words of Denis Waitley “Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude.”
