This month we recognize Stephanie Monsen of McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. as WiOPS’ May 2017 Member of the Month! Stephanie has been in the industry for 15 years. She spent 2 years, while in college, with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the other 13 with McCarthy. She is now a Preconstruction Manager.
She has stated that she loves the sense of accomplishment and satisfaction that she gets from taking a simple idea for a project all the way through construction, and then finally turning it over to the end user, but mostly the coordination and problem solving involved in the whole process. In her spare time she likes to chase her two sons around. They are very active 4-1/2 and 2-1/2 year old boys. She also plays coed softball every Wednesday.
She adds that she has really enjoyed being a part of WiOPS from the beginning. The connections & friendships that she’s made here are invaluable. From Stephanie, “To all the women out there that may be nervous about being a female in construction, there is a place for you, you can do it, you just have to find the right fit!”
