Join us in congratulating Diana Paur for being selected as our April 2023 Member of the Month!

Diana is a Project Engineer at Snyder Langston and has been with the company for about a year. When we asked her why she chose a career in construction, Diana told us that she was ready for a career change from what she had previously been doing and was looking for an entirely new adventure. She was excited about the construction industry because of the hands-on nature and the ability to learn and grow. Diana’s favorite thing about construction is watching projects come to life, and that, “There’s something special about being able to see the physical representation of your work.” The thing that surprised her most about the industry is how relevant our work is in tying together so many of the things you see on your typical day-to-day. For Diana, it all has a purpose.

Diana is an active member of WiOPS and can be seen not only attending our monthly events, but actively participating in them and getting to know other members. The thing she values most about WiOPS is how inclusive and supportive the organization is. As a women in construction who is new to the industry, it can be easy to feel like you don’t fit, but WiOPS has helped her to view her differences as a strength rather than a set back. One of her favorite events was the Newport Beach Boat Parade that was hosted by SASCO. She was able to connect with other women in the industry in an organic setting while having a fun time! However, she enjoys all WiOPS events and said that they help her be part of a community within the construction world and it makes her feel like she has a home at WiOPS.

-A good book she suggests would be “Everything is Figureoutable” by Marie Forleo.
-Random Thought: “Don’t let a foreign industry stop you from expanding your knowledge.”
-Random Thought: “Get comfortable being uncomfortable.”
-Random Thought: “Do the things that scare you.”
-If given the option for unlimited energy or infinite intelligence, Diana would choose unlimited energy. Her reasoning is that if you have the motivation, drive and desire to learn there really is nothing stopping you.
