We’re excited to highlight some recent news amongst our WiOPS Southern California members and board members!
Join us in congratulation our WiOPS SoCal Secretary Vanessa Tilley on her new position as a Project Manager with RBA Builders! We caught up with Vanessa and asked her about what she is most excited about and how she plans to utilize her expertise in her role.
Vanessa is most looking forward to strengthening her project and people management skills, as well as diving into the Aerospace and Biotech/Cleanroom sectors. She was really attracted to RBA Builders because of their employee benefit of Paid Community Service Hours. She felt that having a company offer that is a great representation of their culture and their willingness to “Do the Right Thing Even When it is Inconvenient” – one of their core values. Vanessa had also attended a NAWIC event hosted by RBA Builders where they assembled donation food packages. She left the meeting thinking, “I want to work here.”
A quote from Vanessa, “If you allow yourself the time and mental space, our eyes will open to many different opportunities.” Fun fact – Vanessa credits WiOPS’ social network for finding out about the NAWIC event that she attended, and she’d like to shout out all the women in construction networks out there working collaboratively to advance women in our industry.
