Anna works for HED as an Associate Principal | Project Management & Operations Leader. Anna has been in the Construction Industry for 20+ years.

Anna is inspired by the courage of women like Edie Windsor, Kris Perry, and Sandy Stier, who were instrumental in winning hard-earned victories for marriage equality in the US.

Anna’s story of how she got into the construction industry:

While in high school in Dublin, Ireland, I interned at an architecture firm and caught the bug!

After college, I spent over a decade working in London, designing and helping to deliver some exciting and challenging projects, including a children’s museum and “story center” celebrating the life and work of author Roald Dahl, a new amenities hub for the University of Nottingham, the mixed-use redevelopment of a 22-acre site in central London, and the redesign of Parliament Square in the heart of Westminster.

In 2015, after moving to the Bay Area, I joined HED where I have been fortunate to work with a fantastic team of architects and engineers, primarily on Higher Education projects across Northern California, including the new Latitude Dining Commons at UC Davis.

Anna loves to be outside – hiking, biking, and kayaking keep her active and mentally fit. Being able to enjoy her hobbies year-round is a benefit of living in California over the rainy UK.

Anna wanted to share this with us:

The LGBTQ+ community and its allies still have a lot to fight for. Many people here in the US and around the world continue to experience prejudice, persecution, and violence because of who they are. I’d like to encourage anyone planning post-pandemic travel to do a little research first to avoid spending their hard-earned money in countries with laws or customs that discriminate against LGBTQ+ individuals.

THANK YOU AND CONGRATULATIONS ANNA!
