Carson Hubred is an Account Executive at Next Level Energy Management Systems, a product agnostic controls contractor. She got into construction when she was recruited by Siemens from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo’s Industrial Engineering program. She enjoys working in controls because she gets to combine software and technology with the built environment. Her favorite aspect of construction is that it’s truly a team effort requiring diverse people with varied skills.
She enjoys WiOPS because it does a great job in showcasing the team coordination and diversity that is fundamental to construction. Carson’s favorite WiOPS event was the AD/S tour; she is looking forward to building relationships with even more women in construction at future events.
A skill she is currently working on is increasing her technical knowledge of building automation systems, with special attention on new technologies and advancements.
Fun Fact – HVAC and lighting account for over 60% of average energy use in commercial buildings. One way to reduce energy use is to install energy valves on Air Handler Units.
