Congratulations to our January WiOPS NorCal Member of the Month, Monica Ashley! Monica has worked for Hensel Phelps for 13 years here in the Bay Area. She is a Project Manager and has had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects including, airports, data centers, healthcare, justice, and social services facilities. She lives in San Jose and has two boys, ages 3 and 6, who keep her very busy with sports, biking, playing hide-and-seek and the nightly dance party after dinner. Monica enjoys traveling with her family, once a month they go on an adventure outside of the Bay Area. She is also an avid wine enthusiast who enjoys experimenting with creative food and wine pairings. Monica told us her favorite thing about construction is that the personal interactions and relationships forged in this industry are incredible. “Throughout my career, I have met amazing people and continue to be inspired by the teams that I work with each day. It is rewarding to know that the projects we build help to shape our communities.”
When asked for a random thought she would like to share, Monica shared, “I believe that happiness drives success. My wish this holiday season is that everyone would reflect on what makes them happy, then take the steps in the new year to prioritize these things in their lives.” In the words of Robin Sharma, “Gratitude drives happiness. Happiness boosts productivity. Productivity reveals mastery; and mastery inspires the world.”
