Our WiOPS Member of the Month for May 2018 is Chantal Contreras. She is a Project Engineer at Snyder Langston, and is also a student at California State University, Long Beach where she is the President of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Student Chapter.
She has had an admiration for construction since she was a little girl. She recalls a family trip to Europe and falling in love with the fairytale castles and the charm of old European architecture. She shares that “the best part of my job is being in the field every day and experiencing the building process first-hand. My favorite part about construction is the personal satisfaction I get from knowing I was able to create a space that people will enjoy for many years.”
She adds, “Thank you WiOPS for creating a great organization that mentors and shines a light on women in construction, architecture, and engineering.”
