Our WiOPS Member of the Month for May 2019 is Deisi Lopez!
Deisi is a project engineer for Hensel Phelps and is currently working on a UCSD housing project. She’s working at a college campus now, but her alma mater is California State University Long Beach. While a student at CSULB she helped restart the AGC Student Chapter. During that time she was a Civil Engineering Major. Through her affiliation to the student chapter she became aware of the construction industry. She also became fascinated with the many different types of professions that exist in this industry and the collaboration that takes place in every type of project. After completing her second internship she decided to change her major to Construction Engineering Management. She feels that it has turned out to be one of the best decisions she’s ever made.
She’s happy with the career path she chose and enjoys learning every day. She’s also happy to be a mother of a beautiful 5-year-old little girl named Vivian. Her husband also works in the construction industry.
