Join us in celebrating our April 2026 WiOPS Member of the Month, Andrea (Prante) Velez. Andrea is a project and account manager at Professional Diversified Flooring.
She began her career in the construction industry with tile distributors, which gave her a solid understanding of materials and the supply side of the industry. From there, she moved into the subcontractor side, where she found her passion and she’s been able to grow her experience in project management, operations, and bringing projects to life.
One of the things that she enjoys most about working in construction is the constant change – no two days are ever the same. The challenges keep it interesting, and the rewards make it all worth it. What she appreciates the most is the opportunity to build meaningful relationships. What surprised her the most about construction is how much it revolves around people. She expected it to be all about the work and the projects, but she’s learned that relationships and teamwork are what really drive success.
What she values most about WiOPS is the community – a safe space to connect, learn, and build meaningful friendships with other women in our industry. She genuinely looks forward to each monthly event. “There’s always something new to learn – whether it’s a new skill, a behind-the-scenes look at how different companies operate, or even a little friendly competition.” Her favorite WiOPS event was the Amazing Race event at Control Air. “They put so much thought and effort into making it such a fun night of friendly competition and I loved to see how many associates were a part of it to help put the event on.
