Don't let a foreign industry stop you from expanding your knowledge.
Get comfortable being uncomfortable.
Do the things that scare you!

How did you get into the construction industry?

She was ready for a career change from what she had previously been doing and wanted a new adventure. She was excited about the construction industry because of the hands-on nature and the ability to learn and grow.

Favorite thing about construction

Her favorite things about construction are watching projects come to life and being able to see the physical representation of her hard work.

Thing that surprised her the most about construction?

The thing that surprised her most about the construction industry is how relevant our work is in tying together so many of the things that you see during your typical day-to-day. For Diana, it all has purpose.

Favorite WiOPS event

One of Diana’s favorite WiOPS events was the “Ladies Night at the Boat Parade” with SASCO. She was able to connect with other women in the industry in an organic setting while having a fun time! However, she did say she enjoys all events and that they help her be part of a community within the construction world.

What she values most about WiOPS

Diana values how inclusive and supportive the organization is. As a woman in construction who is relatively new to the industry, it can be easy to feel like you don’t fit but WiOPS has helped her to view her differences as strengths, not setbacks.

Limitless energy and/or infinite intelligence?

She would chose unlimited energy, because if you have the motivation, drive, and desire to learn there really is nothing stopping you.
