I value that WiOPS provides a space where women in operations can connect, learn from one another, and build meaningful professional networks.
Join us in celebrating our November 2025 WiOPS Member of the Month, Julene Uriarte. Julene is the Field Office Coordinator at Rudolph and Sletten. Most of her family has worked in construction as laborers or in various trades. They encouraged her to explore the industry, mentioning that her background in supply, finance, and logistics from her time in the Marine Corps would transition well into construction. Now that she’s been in the industry for a couple of years, she loves seeing how many different factors must come together for a project to evolve from a concept into a real, physical place. She was pleasantly surprised by the number of women in the construction industry. Coming from a military background, she was used to being in predominantly male environments. She shares that it’s been exciting to collaborate with other women and experience the strong support from my team.
On reflecting about what she values about WiOPS, she notes that it provides a space where women in operations can connect, learn from one another, and build meaningful professional networks. Her favorite WiOPS event was the end-of-year celebration in December. It was her first time attending, and everyone was so kind and welcoming.
Her best piece of advice comes from Glennon Doyle: “If you can’t beat the fear, just do it scared.”
