Join us in celebrating our June 2026 WiOPS Member of the Month, Marta Michel-Lodge. Marta is the Director of Marketing at Murray Company.

Marta was introduced to construction by way of the CPMCA, the California Plumbing and Mechanical Contractors Association where she served as the Director of Education, developing a continued education program for CPMCA’s members.  CPMCA introduced her to the world of mechanical contracting from the trade association perspective. When her time at CPMCA came to a close, the transition to one of CPMCA’s largest, most active and engaged contractor members, Murray Company, was a natural and obvious choice for the next chapter of her career.

Her favorite thing about construction is that the people, all of whom are equally vested and passionate about what they do, and the companies they work for, are what make this industry the most special, unique and an honor to be a part of. Also, that an outsider looking in would never imagine the impact and reach, philanthropic, and otherwise,  that the construction industry has, far beyond what meets the eye.

What she values most about WiOPS is the relationships that it helps create that morph from a quick business card exchange, to a simple connections, to acquaintances, friendship and event sometimes to best friends.  WiOPS offers a safe place for women of all ages and experience levels to go when they need support, guidance or help.  WiOPS serves as a solid landing spot, a reliable hub for its members.

Her advice for the women in the industry is that “Above the clouds, the sun is always shining!  And remember, when you feel like you can’t do anymore, you can’t lift another pound, take on another task or do another rep, you’re only about 40% there.  We got this, girls! #fistbump”
