“I think you travel to search and you come back home to find yourself there.” ― Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

Why did you join WiOPS?

I joined WiOPS to build my professional network but I am quickly finding out that this group is more than that. The conversations I’ve had with the women in the group have ranged from career advice to trying different hobbies (and more) . Though the number of women in the industry is growing, a group like WiOPS is definitely needed!

How did you get involved/started in construction/your role?

In 2010 Haiti had a 7.2  magnitude earthquake unfortunately a lot of our buildings collapsed. I wanted to be part of the change that will eventually help rebuild my country.

Do you have a personal or professional guiding principle that guides you? or a quote you live by?

Imposter syndrome is real but I try to remind myself nobody was born already knowing everything. We all have to learn; ask your question(s)!

What advice would you give a young woman entering the industry?

You should have a hobby (if not multiple ones)-at least. You are more than your job continue to discover who you are as an individual as you progress in your professional career.
