WiOPS Southern California Chapter Recognizes Rosendin

February 24, 2023 | San Francisco Business Times

In January 2023 we launched our first-ever WiOPS Awards to recognize the active participants of our SoCal Chapter! The WiOPS Awards were awarded to the individual that attended the most events the previous calendar year (2022) and the company that had the most employees attend events the previous calendar year (2022). We are so proud to announce that Rosendin is the recipient of the WiOPS Award, having had more of their employees attend events than any other company.

Rosendin, headquartered in San Jose, is employee-owned and one of the largest electrical contractors in the United States, employing over 8,000 people with $3 billion in revenue. Established in 1919, Rosendin remains proud of our more than 100 years of building quality electrical and communications installations and value for our clients but, most importantly, for building people within our company and our communities. Rosendin has 17 offices across the country to serve our clients in a variety of markets including renewable energy, mission critical, transportation, high-tech, industrial, commercial, special systems, education, biotech/pharma, education, and institutional.

Through We LEAD, they focus on supporting women and providing resources, training, mentorship, and sponsorship opportunities to lead, engage, develop, and advocate for themselves and others throughout their organization.

They have been attending WiOPS events for roughly 5 years, and are constantly encouraging the women within their company to take the time to attend industry events that will not only benefit them and their careers, but also those of others. Rosendin loves that WiOPS covers training and knowledge on all of the trades within the industry, so members are constantly learning new skills that they may not have in their normal day-to-day. While they specialize in electrical, their employees have been able to learn more about fireproofing, concrete, tile, architectural wood work, and more throughout their time participating in WiOPS.

We asked Rosendin (rosendin.com) about the women within their company, and they have an internal women’s group, “We LEAD.” Through We LEAD, they focus on supporting women and providing resources, training, mentorship, and sponsorship opportunities to lead, engage, develop, and advocate for themselves and others throughout their organization. Their executive team (from Division Managers to the President) have not only supported their participation in women’s events and conferences, but also actively encourage it. They also have several females holding executive positions across their 17 offices, and that number continues to grow.

Please join us in recognizing Rosendin for their dedication to WiOPS and to the women in our industry. Our organization would not exist without the support of our industry, and we’re proud to recognize Rosendin for being such a crucial part of that. We look forward to another successful year of mentorship, networking, and education with you!
