WiOPS would like to congratulate Shakenia Hall-Williams for being selected as our July 2019 Member of the Month!
She is a Project Engineer at McCarthy Building Companies and is also involved in other industry organizations including McCarthy Partnership for Women and ACE Mentorship.
When asked how she chose a career in the construction industry, she explained that she fell into construction 22 years ago while working with Lewis Homes as an Insurance Coordinator. Her favorite thing about construction is turning over a project to the end user with pride, knowing that the blood, sweat, tears, and sleepless nights were done with both dedication and determination! Shakenia adds, “I’m honored to be nominated for the Member of the Month from within my WiOPS family. WiOPS to me embodies diversity, a wealth of knowledge from various backgrounds and frankly just bad a$s women and men striving to make a difference in this industry!”
We think this nomination was well deserved, as she can regularly be seen at our events participating in activities, engaging in conversation, and welcoming new members. Thank you Shakenia, and congratulations on being our Member of the Month!
