Name: Traci Wincup
Company and position: Hilti, Division Manager

Our August Member of the Month is Hilti’s Division Manager Traci Wincup! As the Southern California Division Manager she oversees all the departments at Hilti which allows her to be involved in all their projects. After all the projects she has been a part of her favorite was a movie theater complex in Mesa, Arizona. This was a project from early in her career, but has stuck with her because of the General Field Superintendent who showed her the ropes. They would take the extra time to show her how the building was built and was accessible for job walks and answering her questions. “I will always appreciate that investment he made in my learning and love for building things.”

Traci only had some experience in the industry when she decided to take a break and go back to school to get her MBA. When she graduated she chose to work in the construction industry because of the diversity of the individuals she would be working alongside as well as the collaborative efforts across companies and functions. “I loved how most of the companies I worked with were either employee-owned or family-owned, and Hilti was also a family-owned business.” Like many of us she gets joy from seeing the positive and long lasting impacts we have in our communities.

With a husband and two young daughters Traci is pretty tied up outside of work, but when she does get some time to herself she enjoys cooking, wine tasting, travel, hiking, volunteering at her church, and attending WiOPS. She is grateful for the women of WiOPS, “For many years it has been challenging to build a professional support network for the women who work on my field-based team at Hilti – a place where they can share struggles of being a woman in the industry and receive support from others who have proven successful. WiOPS has been a great solution to this challenge – there may not be hundreds of Hilti women here in SoCal, but there ARE in WiOPS, and I have encouraged the women on my team to get involved as much as they can!” Congratulations Traci!
