Vanessa Tilley

Our September Member of the Month is Vanessa Tilley, the Director of Engineering at Best Contracting Services, Inc.! One of her favorite projects she has worked on was the Kaiser Downey Hospital Tower and CUP. On this project her knowledge of metal panels and louvers grew. She fondly recalls the memories of getting to work closely with her coworkers as “a team working towards a common goal.” She has a love for construction that can only be compared to a game, “everyone starts with the same pieces, but it’s how you play those pieces and the strategy involved that determines how successful you are.” Outside of the office she enjoys an array of new activities like attending a Sumo Wrestling match to a 2CELLOS (cellist rock duo) concert. She enjoys being exposed to different cultures and finds it inspiring to be around people in their element. She is appreciative of WiOPS for the opportunity it gives her to network, “The women (and men) here are so supportive and welcoming, and the activities are so engaging.” Vanessa has also recently married the love of her life in their backyard via webcam due to Covid-19.
